WHO: Sheikh Fahad Al Salem Al Ali Al Sabah, president of the Center for Dialogue Among Civilizations, president of the Federation of Arab Private Channels, founding president of the City of Media, and owner of "the future" (newspaper in Kuwait) and a television broadcast channel in Kuwait.
WHAT: Sheikh Fahad will address the effect of modern media and the spread of freedom in the Middle East and North Africa.
Sheikh Fahad is a humanitarian that believes in and actively pursues the evolving of rights of Arab citizens and ensuring that more justice and less inequality is afforded to all, whether in the Arab World or throughout the globe.
In November of 1990, Sheikh Fahad was taken as a prisoner of war by Iraq. Since his release in June of 1991, Sheikh Fahad has served in several high-ranking positions including two on the Board of Directors of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait. Additionally, he worked at the National Guard as Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology and Services, where he created and executed several programs including computer literacy and setting up the fiber optic infrastructure for the National Guard.
After being awarded the Directorship of the Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries, a ministerial position, by a Decree from the Ruling Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahad reorganized the administrative structure by sending employees on training missions, establishing modern testing laboratories and entering into agricultural agreements with several countries to support both Kuwait's and the other countries needs, accordingly.
